A Message from Our President
Welcome to the home of IAFF Local 479, the Tucson Fire Fighters Association. Whether you're a member, a community partner, or someone learning about us for the first time, we're glad you're here.
The men and women of Local 479 are the backbone of fire and emergency services in Tucson. Every shift, every call, every rescue; our members show up with professionalism, courage, and an unwavering dedication to the people of this city. That commitment is something I am immensely proud of, and it is the foundation on which everything this Local does is built.
Our union exists to ensure that every firefighter in this department is protected, represented, and heard. We fight for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the health and retirement benefits our members have earned through years of service to this community. That fight never stops, and neither do we.
But Local 479 is about more than the firehouse. Through our charitable programs from the Mark Paris Golf Tournament and the Tucson Firefighter Ball, to our annual Toy Drive, Thanksgiving Food Boxes, MDA Fill-the-Boot, and Adopt-a-Family efforts our members give back to the Tucson community in ways that go far beyond emergency response. Serving this city is not just our job. It is our calling.
Looking ahead, we remain focused on the future of our members and the communities we protect. There is always more work to do, and we take that work seriously every single day.
